Our intersectional lives are being threatened.

After the 2016 elections, the need to build up community and organize became about strategizing how we are going to survive and thrive during a time of increasing violence, homo and trans hate, a disregard for Black lives, and fear mongering in the undocumented community of the domestic labor class in the US.

The national narrative building against members of the LGBTQ+ community has only increased over the past two years as the federal government seeks to maintain negative commentary and attitudes that are impacting our political climate. With legislation being passed to defund key social safety net programs such as HUD, social services, Medicaid and Medicare coupled with movements to deconstruct the Affordable Care Act, attacks against institutions that serve the needs of communities of color, low-income people and members of the LGBTQ community.

During this hostile moment in history, it is urgent that we move to build resilient networks, organize for political wins, engage in healing practices and create safe spaces, embark on new models of economic prosperity and stability and address issues of systemic racism.

We center the leadership and resilience of queer people of color and our allies in the Hudson Valley.

Our Strategy:

Organize

We are building a base in Newburgh, Beacon, New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, and all over the Mid-Hudson Valley of members and leaders to identify issues that we can build campaigns on - we believe in systemic change impacting our intersecting communities.

Educate

We provide LGBTQ+ cultural competency training to not-for-profits, educators, government agencies and the general public. We provide political education to deepen the knowledge of our intersecting communities.

Agitate

We advocate for our members when they experience exploitation and injustice.

Community Building

It is through community that we thrive! Our goal is to build safe space, educational exchanges, and leadership development through partnership with businesses and local organizations in order to better serve the needs of LGBTQ+ identified community members.
